M. Adamji Kathawala

We are located at 421, Narsi Natha Street, right in the middle of Katha Bazaar in Masjid West. If you’ve ever walked through this part of Mumbai, you know exactly how it is. It’s loud, crowded, and there is always something moving. M. Adamji Kathawala has been here on this street for quite a long time. The building is old, and the air always smells like the market outside—mostly spices and dust from the trucks. Our space is tucked away, and we have bags and boxes stacked almost to the ceiling. It isn’t the kind of place that looks like a modern office building. It’s a working warehouse and shop, really. We spend most of our time dealing with the logistics of the bazaar. Sometimes the traffic is so bad that deliveries take forever, but that’s just life in Masjid. We know the neighbors and the tea seller on the corner. Our day starts before the heavy heat hits, and we usually wrap things up when the market starts to quiet down a little in the evening. There are no fancy signs or bright lights here. We just focus on what we have in stock and getting it to where it needs to go. It’s hard work, and the stairs are a bit steep, but this is where we’ve always been and it works for us.
