Lukkhy Uniforms

Our place is over in Gajanad Colony in Shivaji Nagar. It’s not a very big shop, but we have enough room for the sewing machines and the cutting tables. P3051 is the address if you’re looking for it. We mostly spend our time around the sound of needles clicking. There are usually rolls of white and blue fabric sitting in the corner because that’s what most schools want. My hands are always busy with the scissors or the chalk. The floor is covered in small snips of cloth that we sweep up at the end of the day. We have a few finished uniforms hanging up on the wall so people can see the different styles. It gets a bit crowded when a whole family comes in at once to get the kids measured. I try to keep the measuring tape around my neck so I don't lose it under a pile of shirts. The light in here is okay during the day but we have some big tube lights for the evening work. Shivaji Nagar can be a busy area so there’s usually some noise from the street coming in. We don't have a fancy showroom. It’s just a workshop where we do the sewing and the ironing. Some days it’s very quiet and other days we are working late to finish a big order for a local company. We just do the work as it comes in and try to keep things organized on the shelves.
