Lata Apparel

Lata Apparel is based over in Lower Parel West. If you know Mumbai, you know how busy this area is. There is always something happening outside our windows. We are located in one of those buildings that have been around for a long time. It’s not a glass-and-steel skyscraper, just a regular place with a lot of character. We spend our days dealing with clothes. There are sewing machines going and people cutting fabric most of the time. It gets a bit loud, but we are used to it. We don't have a fancy reception area. If you come by, you’ll probably see us right in the middle of working on something. We started this because we knew how to make clothes, and we just kept going. We aren't interested in being a big brand name. We just like the work. The space is a bit cramped because we have so many rolls of fabric sitting around, but we know where everything is. We take the train in like everyone else and get to work. It’s a simple life. We don't have any big mission statements or corporate goals. We just want to finish the orders on time and do a decent job. Lower Parel is a good place for us because everything we need is close by. We’ve been here long enough that the tea stall downstairs knows exactly how we like our morning chai.
