Leo Tailors

You can find Leo Tailors at Shop No 5 in the Jolly Centre. We’re on the Kudlu Main Road in Santacruz West, right across from Asha Parikh Hospital. It’s a good landmark because everyone knows the hospital. The shop isn't huge, but we have enough room for the machines and the fabric. It gets a bit noisy with the sewing machines going and the traffic from the main road outside. We’ve been here at Jolly Centre for a good bit of time now. People walk in with all sorts of things they need fixed or made. We just sit there and get to it. Sometimes it’s a bit of a squeeze when we have a lot of stuff waiting to be finished. We try to keep things organized, but it’s a working shop, so there’s always thread and scraps around. It’s just a small team of us working here. We see a lot of people from the neighborhood coming and going. The light in the shop is okay during the day, which helps. We don't have a fancy showroom. It’s just the shop where the work happens. If you’re coming from the hospital side, you just cross over and we’re right there in the center. We just keep our heads down and do the work. It’s a practical way to spend the day. We are here most hours and just keep at the sewing.
