Lamia Impex

Lamia Impex is located at 84 Akbar Mansion, specifically in unit 3/43 on M. S. Ali Road. We are right in the middle of the Khandia Street area in Byculla. One of the best things about being here is that we are situated right above the Cafe Paradise Hotel. You can almost always smell whatever they are frying or brewing downstairs, which definitely makes you hungry by lunchtime. Akbar Mansion is one of those older buildings with a lot of character and some narrow stairs you have to climb to reach us. Our office is where we handle the import and export details, so there are always stacks of shipping documents and ledgers on the tables. The street outside is incredibly narrow and always filled with handcarts, taxis, and people moving goods. It’s a very traditional business area where everyone seems to know everyone else. We have a few old wooden cupboards where we keep our samples and files. The windows are usually kept open, so the sounds of the Byculla traffic come right in while we are working. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons, but we have a couple of sturdy ceiling fans that keep the air moving. We don't have a fancy lobby, just a functional room where we get the business done. It’s a busy, noisy, and lived-in space that suits the kind of work we do every day in this historic part of the city.
