Labalab Fashion Creation

Labalab Fashion Creation is tucked away in Shivmahel Society over in Borivali West. Our address is 4 B on Old Padra Road, which is a bit of a busy street during the evenings. The workshop isn't very large, but we’ve managed to fit in several sewing machines and a large cutting table. There are threads and fabric scraps all over the floor by the time we finish for the day. I started this because I liked making things, and now it’s just what I do. We don't have a big storefront with mannequins; it’s more of a place where the actual work happens. You’ll usually hear the sound of the machines running as soon as you walk in. I spend a lot of time talking to customers about what they want, sketching things out on old pieces of paper. Sometimes we run out of a certain color of thread and I have to run down the street to grab more. It’s a bit unorganized at times, but we always get the clothes finished. The light in the room is okay in the morning, but we have to use big lamps once the sun goes down. My hands are always stained with chalk or dye. We aren't a big factory, just a small crew of us who know how to sew. It’s a honest way to make a living, and being in Borivali means we have plenty of regulars who stop by to chat while we work on their orders.
