L Harnam Optics

L Harnam Optics is a small shop located at Yadav Niwas on the Padmavati Hospital Road in Powai. We are right opposite the Padmalay Hospital, so we see a lot of people walking by all day. Our shop is number two, and it’s a modest little place. We have some glass cases for the frames and a chair for people to sit while they wait. It’s not a big showroom with bright lights and fancy displays. It’s more of a neighborhood spot where people come in because they need something fixed or they lost their glasses. The road outside can get quite busy with ambulances and people going to the hospital, so there’s always something happening. We spend our time cleaning the lenses, adjusting frames, and talking to the regulars who live around here in Powai. Sometimes it’s quiet and we just sit and watch the street, and other times three people walk in at once and it feels crowded. We’ve been here long enough that most of the local residents know who we are. We don't go in for big sales pitches or anything like that. If someone needs help with their eyes, we just do what we can. It’s a simple business, and we like the personal connection we have with the folks who stop by. Yadav Niwas is an older building, so it has a bit of character that you don't find in the new shopping malls.
