L & T Company

Down here at the Heavy Engineering Division of L & T Company we spend most of our time in the D Building. We are on the ground floor of the Powai Works which is a massive place if you’ve ever been to Powai. It is always loud with the sounds of machines and metal hitting metal but you get used to it after a week or two. Being in the D Building means we are right in the thick of things. The ground floor is convenient because we have heavy stuff moving in and out all the time. It isn't a quiet office job at all. We wear our gear and we stay busy from morning until evening. Powai is a busy part of the city and the works here have a lot of history. You can feel it in the old walls and the way the floors are worn down from years of use. We don’t have much time for fancy talk or long emails. Most of our communication is just shouting over the noise or quick notes on a clipboard. It’s honest work and it keeps us on our toes. The D Building isn't the newest one on the lot but it works for us. We are just a bunch of people doing heavy engineering in a very busy corner of Powai. It’s dusty and loud and exactly where we belong. We finish our shifts and go home tired but it's okay.
