We have been here at Devkaran Mansion Block 1 for a good while now. Our office, number 07/3, is up on the second floor, so there is always a bit of a climb if the lift is acting up again. Being right on Princess Street means it is always noisy and busy outside with people and carts moving around. You know how Mumbai gets during the middle of the day. We just focus on getting through the orders and making sure everything is where it needs to be. It is mostly just paperwork and phone calls in this small room. My father started things here many years ago, and now we just keep the routine going. There are boxes stacked everywhere sometimes, especially when a big shipment comes in and we have no place to put it. We do not have any fancy furniture or anything like that, just some old desks and chairs that work well enough. People come in from the street looking for specific items, and we try to help them out if we have what they need in stock. Sometimes the noise from the traffic downstairs is quite a lot, but you get used to it after working here for a year or two. We handle the daily business, talk to the suppliers, and try to keep the accounts straight. It is a tight space, really. We spend most of the day here from early morning until the evening rush starts.
