Kiwi Bags is located at 42 Ritu Apartments on Dongirsey Road. More of a workshop than a big factory, this space in Walkeshwar gets pretty cramped with rolls of fabric and zippers everywhere. We started out just making things for friends, and then it slowly grew. Usually, you can hear the sewing machines running while we work. Making bags isn't complicated for us, we just stick to stuff people can actually use every day. A smell of new material and thread fills the apartment. To be honest, it stays pretty cluttered here. Samples hang on the walls, and boxes are stacked up in every corner. Instead of being a big brand you’d see in a mall, we are just a small team cutting and stitching. Word of mouth is how most people find us, or they just stop by. Walkeshwar is a nice area, even if parking is a total pain. There aren't any fancy displays. If you visit, you’ll probably see us with thread all over our clothes in the middle of a project. Making things that last is what we enjoy. It’s simple work, but it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. Advertising isn't really our thing; we just let the bags speak for themselves and hope people like them. That's how we keep it going every week. We just like making practical things for regular people to use.
