This is just my small office here in Walkeshwar, tucked away on Krushna Sheri. I’ve been working from this 231/2 address for quite a few years now. It’s a quiet street, which I like because it lets me focus on the paperwork and the accounts I handle for people. I don't have a big staff, just me and a part-time assistant who comes in a few days a week to help with the filing. My desk is usually piled high with folders and notes I’ve scribbled to myself. People in the neighborhood know me, and they usually just drop by if they have a question about their taxes or some other legal form they don't understand. I keep a pot of tea going most of the morning. It’s not a corporate environment at all; it feels more like a living room with too many bookshelves. Sometimes I get distracted talking to the neighbors who walk past the window, but that’s part of being in a place like this. I don't use any fancy software if a pen and paper will do the job just as well. It’s a simple way of working, but it’s served me well so far. If you're looking for a big firm with glass walls, this isn't it. It's just a local place where we take things one page at a time. I usually stay until the light fades out, just catching up on the day's mail and making sure everything is ready for tomorrow.
