Khadi And Village Industries Commission

We are based out of Gramodaya on Irla Road, right in the heart of Vile Parle West. Being at 3 Irla Road means we’re in a spot that a lot of people recognize. The Khadi And Village Industries Commission has a lot going on at any given time. It’s a big building, and there are always people coming and going from different departments. It’s not a quiet place, that’s for sure. Most days are spent dealing with various projects that focus on rural areas and local crafts. It’s a lot of coordination. We have desks piled with folders and phones that don’t seem to stop ringing. The area outside in Vile Parle is always moving, especially with the market nearby. You get used to the hustle. We aren't trying to be a slick corporate office. The furniture is older, and the files are mostly paper, but it’s how things have been done here for a long time. People come here because they know the name and what we stand for in the community. It’s more about the work than the image. We just show up, drink our tea, and get through the tasks on the list. Sometimes the elevators are slow, but nobody really complains. It’s just part of the daily routine at Gramodaya. We’ve been part of this neighborhood for years now, and we just keep doing what we do.
