Our office is tucked away on the second floor of Suratwala Mansion. If you know Bora Bazar Street in Fort, you know how crowded it gets. We are at number 103. The building is one of those old Mumbai structures with a lot of character and plenty of stairs. Kgn Exports Pvt. Ltd. has been operating out of here for some time now. It’s a busy spot. You can hear the noise from the street all day long—horns honking and people shouting. It’s part of the charm of being in Fort, I guess. We spend a lot of our time dealing with paperwork and coordinating things from this room. It’s not a fancy corporate office with glass walls. It’s more of a practical space where we get things done. The second floor keeps us a little bit away from the direct chaos of the pavement, but not by much. We’ve got our desks pushed together and files everywhere. Mumbai is a fast city, and being here in the middle of it keeps us on our toes. We usually take our tea breaks when the chai wallah comes by. It’s a simple routine. We handle our business, talk to our neighbors in the building, and head home when the sun goes down. It is just how we run things every day here.
