The Durian Estate is one of those places where everyone is always moving something. We are at number 321, right on the Goregaon-Mulund Link Road. Being in Goregaon (E) means we deal with a lot of traffic every single morning just to get into the gates. Keshava Organics Pvt. Ltd. operates out of a space that is mostly functional. We have shelves filled with samples and ledgers that have seen better days. The air around here has that industrial smell, a mix of rain and whatever the neighbors are making. We spend our hours checking labels and making sure the drums are sealed right. It’s not glamorous work. Sometimes the elevator in the building acts up, and we have to take the stairs, which isn't fun when you’re carrying things. The office staff and the floor workers all know each other well. We have our routines, like who makes the first pot of tea. We don't have a marketing team writing stuff for us. We just handle the organics business as it comes. Usually, it’s just a lot of phone calls to suppliers and checking the inventory lists. By the time we head home on the Link Road, we’re pretty tired, but the work is steady and it keeps us busy enough.
