Kanan Knitwear

We are located in the Sun Mill Compound in Lower Parel, specifically in units 204 and 205 of the Amir Industrial Estate. This area used to be all mills back in the day, and you can still feel that history, even though there are fancy cafes and offices around us now. Kanan Knitwear is a bit more old-school. Inside, it’s mostly the sound of the knitting machines and the hum of the fans. It gets pretty hot in the summer, especially with all the yarn and machines running. We have stacks of knitwear everywhere. Sometimes it feels like there isn't enough room to walk, but we know where everything is. The elevator in the building is a bit temperamental, so we end up taking the stairs more often than we’d like. Lower Parel is always changing, but our corner of the estate stays pretty much the same. We have a small crew, and everyone knows what they are supposed to do. There’s no big HR department or fancy management layers here. If something breaks, we usually try to fix it ourselves first. We work hard to get the orders out on time, and that usually means long days. It’s just honest work in an old industrial building. We don't have time for much else besides the knitting and the shipping. Sometimes we stay late into the evening just to finish a batch, then we lock up and head out into the busy Parel traffic.
