Kalindi Overseas

Kalindi Overseas is based out of Kandivali West. It’s a crowded part of Mumbai, but we like it here. The office is nestled among the local shops and residential buildings. We handle overseas trading, which basically means a lot of emails to people in different time zones. Our mornings are often spent catching up on messages that came in overnight. It’s a small setup. We don't have a hundred employees, just a handful of us who know the business well. The desks are usually covered in shipping documents and customs forms. It’s not a very quiet office; there’s always someone on a call or the sound of the nearby market. We deal with various goods, so every day is a bit different. One day it’s textiles, another day it’s something else entirely. We have to be quick on our feet. Sometimes the port delays drive us crazy, but that’s part of the trade business. We don't go for fancy decorations or expensive furniture. It’s a functional space where we get things done. Most of us live nearby, so we walk or take a rickshaw to work. It’s a very local feel for a company that deals with international stuff. We just focus on getting the containers moved and making sure the paperwork is in order for the next shipment. It's simple, honest work that keeps us busy from morning until late in the evening.
