The streets are narrow and always full of people and carts, but that's where the heart of the trade is. Our shop is right in the thick of it. We don't have a big fancy storefront with flashing lights and loud music. It’s a traditional market space where we focus mostly on the fabric. We spend our days folding silk, checking colors, and talking to customers who really know what they are looking for. We aren't big on marketing or using polished language to describe what we do here. It’s just about the silk and getting it to the people who need it for their projects. The building is old and the market is loud, but we’ve been here so long it feels like home. We don't have a mission or a fancy vision. We just want to do our work and go home to our families at the end of the day. Sometimes the rolls of silk get piled up pretty high on the counter, but we know where everything is. It’s a bit messy, a bit loud, and very real. That’s just the way things are at R J Market. We’re just another part of the busy life in Kalbadevi and we wouldn't have it any other way.
