J.V. Gokal

You can find J.V. Gokal at 171/172 in the Kasturi Buildings on J. T. Road, right in the heart of Churchgate. It’s a fantastic location, being so close to the station, but it also means we’re always surrounded by the massive crowds of people rushing to catch their trains. The building itself is one of those classic structures that gives you a sense of old Mumbai. We’ve got big windows that let in some light, though they’re usually covered in a bit of city grime. Inside, the atmosphere is usually quite focused. We have a lot of history in this office, and you can see it in the way the files are organized and how the desks are laid out. We spend our time managing various accounts and making sure everything is in order. It’s a busy place, but we try to keep a steady pace so we don't get overwhelmed by the noise outside. When the sea breeze comes in from the coast, it makes the afternoons much more bearable. We don't really go for anything flashy here. It’s just a solid, functional space where we get our work done every day. Most of us have been commuting to this spot for a long time, so we’ve seen the neighborhood change and the new buildings go up around us. We just keep doing our thing, day in and day out, in this little corner of Churchgate. It is a simple place with good people.
