Jolly Coco Brand

Mohamed Ali Road is always busy. Kamala Nehru Road too. We’ve been at number 81 for a while now. Jolly Coco Brand is just what we do here. Some days the humidity is high, and you can hear the bikes outside all day. It gets loud. We open up early, usually before the sun is really hot. There’s a lot of stuff to move around. Boxes and things. My hands are usually tired by noon. It's just a regular place, nothing fancy to see. We have the sign out front. Sometimes it needs a cleaning because of the dust from the road. People walk by and don't always look up. That's fine. We know the neighbors. The guy next door has been there as long as us. We drink tea when it’s quiet. It's not quiet often. At 81, you get used to the rhythm of the traffic. It’s mostly just work. You come in, you handle the Jolly Coco Brand stuff, and you go home when the lights on the street come on. Sometimes we stay late if there is a lot to finish up. There isn’t much more to it than that. We are just here on the corner where the two roads meet. It’s a solid building. The walls are thick but you still hear the horns. That is just life on Mohamed Ali Road. It’s not a complicated existence but it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday every week. We just keep our heads down and worry about the tasks in front of us.
