Our place is located in the Omkar Abhuday Narag housing society, unit 1689/23, in Kala Chowki. It might seem a bit unusual to have an export-import business in a residential society, but it works for us. We use the space to manage all our documents and coordinate the logistics of moving goods. Kala Chowki is a lively neighborhood with a lot of people moving around at all hours. We are often busy on the phone or tracking containers on the computer screen. It’s not the kind of office where you’ll find plush carpets or glass walls. We have basic furniture and a lot of folders stacked on shelves. The neighbors are mostly families, so we try to keep things respectful and not make too much noise during the day. Dealing with imports and exports means we have to keep track of a lot of different rules and timings. It can be a bit of a juggle sometimes, especially with the time differences. We started this because we wanted to work for ourselves and handle things our own way. We don't use a lot of big words or try to sound more important than we actually are. We just do the work, pay our bills, and try to keep everything moving. It’s a small operation, but we stay busy enough throughout the year. Most days we are just glad to get everything sorted and ready for the next shipment.
