Working out of No. 6 in the Annapurna Industrial Estate keeps us pretty busy. Jj Threads Designer And Manufacturer isn't a showroom with mirrors and bright lights. It’s mostly rolls of fabric, cutting patterns, and the sound of heavy machines running all day. Tilak Road usually has a lot of traffic, so getting things in and out of Ghatkopar Estate takes some patience. We’ve been in this unit for a while. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we usually prioritize the work over how the place looks. Most of the guys here have been with us for years. We know the machines’ quirks, like which one needs a bit of oil every two hours. It gets hot in the afternoons, especially when all the equipment is running at once. We usually have the radio playing in the background to keep the energy up. Manufacturing stuff means there is always dust and scraps of thread on the floor, no matter how much we sweep. It’s just a regular workshop where we make things happen. We don’t do much talking, mostly just focusing on the patterns and the stitching. Being in an industrial estate means we are surrounded by other people doing the same kind of hard work. It’s a practical setup. We just show up, do the manufacturing, and head home when the sun goes down.
