You can find Jhaveri Industries at unit 32 in the Annapurana Industrial Estate on Tilak Road. Being in Ghatkopar East means it’s always crowded and there’s always something happening right outside the door. The estate itself is quite old, and our space is a bit cramped, but we’ve learned how to use every inch of it. We have machines lined up against the walls and boxes stacked up to the ceiling sometimes. It’s a bit of a maze if you don’t know where you’re going. I’ve been working here since I was much younger, and the smells of the workshop haven't changed much. It’s a mix of oil and cold metal. We don't have a big marketing department or any of that stuff. We just talk to people on the phone and take their orders. Sometimes the elevator in the building acts up, and we have to carry things up the stairs. It’s hard work, but it keeps us moving. We take our breaks on the small balcony overlooking the street. Watching the traffic on Tilak Road is a good way to clear your head. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to keep the business running and pay the bills. Most of our tools are older, but they still work perfectly if you know how to treat them. We just keep our heads down and make sure we don't make too many mistakes during the day.
