Our space at Jbs Clothing Company Ltd. is located up on the second floor of Sigma Estate, Unit 216 to be exact. If you’re looking for us, we’re right on Sayars Road, just past the Ashish Industrial Estate. Dadar West is always moving fast, and Gokhale Road South is no different. It’s a lot of climbing stairs and carrying boxes around here. We have another connection over in Gavanpada, Mulund East, but most of the daily grind happens right here in the unit. The room is usually filled with the sound of steam irons and people shouting over the noise of the traffic outside. It isn’t a corporate office with leather chairs. We have metal racks, stacks of patterns, and a lot of thread clippings on the floor. Most of us have been working together for years, so we don't need to say much to know what needs doing next. We take the train in, grab a vada pav, and get to work. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze when a big order comes in, but we make it work by moving the cutting tables around. Being in an industrial estate means there’s always something happening next door too. We just keep our heads down and focus on the garments. It’s a plain, honest way to make a living, and we’re glad to be part of the local buzz in this part of Mumbai.
