About Jayant D Gilatar – Film & Media Production in Mumbai
My name is Jayant D Gilatar and I work out of Malad East. My place is in the Sankalp Siddhi building, specifically Flat No A 202. Living and working in Malad means you are always in the middle of a lot of activity. The building is a typical residential-commercial mix that you see a lot of in Mumbai. My office is basically a flat that I’ve converted to handle my professional work. It makes things very convenient, though it can get a bit tight when there are more than two or three people in the room. I have a view of the other buildings from my window, and I can hear the trains from the station if the wind is blowing the right way. I don't have a fancy lobby or a receptionist. If you come to A 202, you just knock and I’ll open the door. I’ve got my desk set up in the main room and files everywhere. It’s a very practical setup. I don't believe in spending a lot of money on making a place look corporate when the work is what matters. Most of my day is spent on the phone or at my computer. It’s a bit of a climb if the lift is acting up, but that doesn't happen too often. It’s a good spot in a busy part of the city, and it serves me well. I usually start work by nine and see where the day takes me.
