If you ever get off at Vile Parle (E) railway station, you’ll find Jain Dugdhalay Pvt. Ltd. right across the street at Shop No. 6 in Kambli Wadi. We sit right on Tejpal Road. It’s a very busy spot with all the commuters rushing to catch their trains every morning and evening. Being a dairy place, our day starts much earlier than most people’s. We are there before the sun is even up, getting the milk and other products ready for the local families. It’s a small shop but it stays crowded. The floor is usually a bit wet from the ice and crates, but that’s typical for a dugdhalay. We don't have any fancy seating or air conditioning, just a counter and the refrigerators. Most of our customers have been coming to us for years, so we know their names and what they usually buy. It’s a simple life, really. We just make sure the supplies are fresh and the shop is open when people need it. Sometimes the traffic on Tejpal Road gets so loud you can’t hear the customers, but we make do. We aren't trying to be some big corporate chain. We are just a local shop in Vile Parle where people stop by for their daily needs. It’s a bit chaotic with the trains rattling by, but it’s home to us. We’ve been at this shop for generations and it’s just what we do.
