We are located right in the heart of Kalbadevi at number 84. If you know this area, you know how crowded it gets with all the handcarts and people rushing around. Our shop is just one of many in these narrow lanes, but we’ve been here long enough that the tea seller next door knows exactly how we like our chai. We spend most of the morning unpacking boxes and checking what came in from the suppliers. It’s a lot of manual work, moving stuff around to make space in the back. The walls are lined with shelves that are usually overflowing. Sometimes it feels like there isn't enough room to breathe, but that’s just how business is in this part of Mumbai. We deal with all sorts of customers, some who have been coming to us for years and others who just stumble in because they saw our sign. We don't really do much fancy stuff, just keep track of the stock and make sure the bills are written correctly. My desk is always covered in papers and old registers. It gets noisy outside with all the shouting and horns, but you get used to it after a week. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, and we just sit there in the dark waiting for it to come back. It’s just a normal trading life, nothing too special about it, just keeping the shop open.
