J. S. Tablewares

We’ve been running J. S. Tablewares out of this spot at 44, Jay Kiran Annexe for quite a long time now. If you know the Liberty Garden area in Malad West, you’ve probably walked past us without thinking much of it. We aren't fancy. It is mostly just stacks of plates, glasses, and all sorts of cutlery piled up inside. Some days it feels like there isn't enough room to breathe with all the boxes coming in from the suppliers. We just try to keep things organized enough so we can find what a customer needs when they walk in. It’s mostly locals who come by, or maybe someone starting a small food stall nearby who needs basic stuff that doesn't cost a fortune. The shelves are made of old wood and some of them sag under the weight of the ceramic plates. We keep a broom in the corner, but the dust always finds its way back onto the glasses. We don't have a computer system that tracks every single thing, so we mostly rely on what we can see on the racks. If you are looking for something very specific, like a certain shade of blue for a bowl, we might have to dig through a few crates in the back. It’s a bit of a mess, honestly, but we know where most things are. We don't have a uniform or anything. We just wear whatever is comfortable for moving boxes around.
