If you find yourself on Nanda Patkar Road in Vile Parle East, you might walk right past us without even noticing. Industrial Switchgear & Controls (B) P L is tucked away at S - 02 in Amardeep Mahal. It is a busy building with a lot of different people coming and going all day long. Our space is a bit small, especially when we have a lot of stock piled up near the front door, but we manage to make it work. The traffic in Vile Parle can be a total nightmare in the evenings, so we usually try to wrap up our work before the rush starts. The office has that old Mumbai feel to it, with thick walls and windows that look out onto the busy street. We spend most of our time dealing with switchgear components and talking to vendors on the landline. It gets quite loud outside with the constant honking, but inside we just focus on the tasks at hand. There are three of us who have been here since the beginning, so we have a system that works for us even if it looks a bit messy to an outsider. We do not have a marketing department or anything like that. We just do the work, answer the phone calls, and try to keep the files in order. Sometimes the lift in the building breaks down, and we have to carry boxes up the stairs, which is a good workout. It is just a normal workplace where we try to stay busy and get things finished.
