Ik International

Ik International is located at 10, Way Bay Hill in the Silliguri part of Goregaon. It’s a bit of a strange address because people often think we are actually in West Bengal, but no, we are right here in Mumbai. The office is up a bit of a slope. Goregaon is always crowded and the traffic near our turnoff is usually a mess by four in the afternoon. We have been in this building for quite a while now. The walls are a pale yellow that’s started to peel in the corners, but we don't really mind. It’s just a place to work. We deal with various international bits and pieces, mostly paperwork and coordinating things over the phone. It is not a big glass tower with a lobby. We have some old desks that have seen better days and a water cooler that makes a loud glugging sound every ten minutes. The rain here can be really heavy, and we have to make sure the windows are shut tight or the documents on the desks get damp. We don't have any fancy titles or anything. It’s just a few of us trying to keep things moving. We drink a lot of tea and talk about the cricket scores when things are slow. It’s a quiet life most of the time, except when a big shipment is being tracked. We just do our bit and go home.
