Home Made Koli Fish Food

Our place, Home Made Koli Fish Food, is tucked away in Mahim West. Specifically, we are on the 5th floor of Mn Koli Chs on Causeway Road, Room No 19. It isn't a shop on the street level, so you have to know where you are going. Being a Koli family, fish has always been at the center of our lives. We do everything right from the house. It can get a bit crowded in the kitchen when we are preparing orders, especially during the weekends. The smell of spices and frying fish usually fills the whole hallway. We get our fish fresh from the local markets because that is the only way to do it right. It is a lot of work, cleaning and prepping everything by hand. We do not have fancy machines or a big professional kitchen. It is just us using the same pots and pans we use for our own meals. People often find us through word of mouth or by living in the same building. Mahim is a great place to be because of the sea breeze, even if the building is a bit old and the stairs are tiring. We stay busy with the cooking and making sure everything tastes like it should. It is honest work and it keeps us connected to our roots. We do not have a big menu, just what we know how to make well for our customers.
