Hikal Chemical Industries Ltd.

We’re up on the 7th floor of Maker Chamber-V in Nariman Point. It’s one of those big buildings where everyone seems to be in a hurry. Hikal Chemical Industries Ltd. has been here for years. The office has a good view if you stand by the right window, but mostly we are looking at our screens. It’s a bit of a maze inside with all the partitions and files. We do a lot of coordination for our chemical projects from here. It isn't a factory, just the place where the planning and the numbers happen. The carpet is a bit worn in the spots where people walk the most. We have a lot of meetings, though they usually happen right at someone’s desk rather than in a big room. Nariman Point is a busy place to work. Lunchtime is the craziest, with everyone heading out to the stalls or the small cafes nearby. We usually just bring tiffins. It’s quieter that way. We don't have a fancy reception area. If someone comes to see us, they usually just walk in and ask for whoever they’re meeting. It’s a practical way to run an office. We have a lot of history in this building. Many of us have been sitting at the same desks for a long time. It feels like a second home, even with the hum of the air conditioner always going. We just get on with things.
