Our office is up on the seventh floor of Dalamal Towers, specifically room 714, right on Free Press Journal Marg in Nariman Point. Being in Mumbai, things are always fast, and this area is no different. It’s full of tall buildings and people in a hurry. We focus on export marketing, which mostly means a lot of phone calls, emails, and paperwork. The view from the window is mostly other offices, but you can feel the energy of the city. We’ve been in Nariman Point for a good while, and even though the rent is high, it’s where the business happens. The office itself is pretty simple. We have our desks, some filing cabinets that are getting a bit too full, and a small table where we have our lunch. We don’t do a lot of fancy meetings. Most of our work is just coordinating with people across different time zones. It gets quiet in the evenings after everyone else has left the tower, and that’s often when we get the most done. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us who know the ropes. Dealing with exports means there’s always some new regulation or shipping delay to handle, so it keeps us on our toes. It’s a lot of small details that have to be right. We don’t have any special awards or missions to talk about. We just show up and handle the export documents until the work is finished. It’s just how we run things here. Most of the time, the air conditioner hums while we work.
