Hapoos

Hapoos is located in the Devraj Co-Operative Housing Society. We are in room A-302, right across from the Ratna Hotel on S.V. Road in Goregaon West. Being on S.V. Road means it is never really quiet. There is a constant stream of buses and rickshaws honking outside from early morning until late at night. Our office is basically a converted apartment, so it has a bit of a homey feel, even with all the computers and filing cabinets around. We have a small kitchen area where we keep the snacks and a fridge that’s always a bit too full of lunch boxes. The furniture is a mix of stuff we’ve picked up over the years. It doesn’t all match, but it’s comfortable enough for us. We handle the business from here, mostly staying on our computers or taking calls from customers and suppliers. Sometimes we have to shout a bit over the noise of the traffic coming through the window. The building is one of those older Goregaon societies where all the neighbors know each other. We see the families in the hallway and chat for a minute while waiting for the lift. It’s a very local way of working. We don't have a big corporate lobby or a bunch of assistants in suits. It’s just us doing the day-to-day work. Some days the lift doesn’t work and we have to walk up the stairs, which isn't great, but we’re used to it.
