Gurukrupa Dryfruits

You can find us in Wadala, specifically at the Irani Chawl on G D Ambedkar Road. It is an old part of the area and the building has a lot of character, though it shows its age in some spots like the ceiling and the pipes. We are surrounded by other small shops and families who have lived in this chawl for decades. The smell of the dry fruits is always in the air when you walk into the shop, which is nice. We have big bags of almonds, cashews, and raisins piled up in the corners. We spend a lot of our time weighing things out on the old scales and putting them into smaller packets for the customers who stop by after their work shift. The road outside, G D Ambedkar Road, is usually crawling with buses and bikes, so it is never really quiet inside the shop. We don't have any fancy displays or bright lights, just wooden shelves and glass jars like you’d expect from an old-school shop in a chawl like this. Sometimes the rain leaks in a bit near the doorway during the monsoon season, so we have to move the stock back to keep it dry. It’s just how things are here in this building. We know most of the people who come in by their first names. It’s a simple life, selling nuts and dried fruits to the neighbors. We’ve been in this same spot for a long time and haven't seen much reason to change.
