Gurdev Icecans Refrigeration Industries is tucked away at number 20 in the Rainbow Industrial Estate. It is right opposite Seepz and behind that Floral Deck Plaza building in Andheri East. Mumbai is a hot city, so being in the ice can and refrigeration business keeps us moving. The workshop is usually filled with these large metal cans and cooling coils. It is a bit of a maze in here sometimes with all the stock we have. We spend a lot of time checking for leaks and making sure the welds on the ice cans are tight. Being in Andheri East means it’s always crowded outside, but once you get behind Floral Deck Plaza, it’s just us working. We’ve been at this for years, making these specific items for people who need them. It’s a niche kind of work. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to make sure the stuff we build actually holds up when it’s filled with water and frozen. The guys here have a lot of experience with the metalwork involved. It’s a sweaty job, especially with the Mumbai humidity, but we are used to it by now. We just focus on the task at hand and try to keep the machines running without too much trouble. We don't have much to say about ourselves other than we work hard here and get the orders out.
