Gulab Leather Art

Gulab Leather Art is based at 10 Bhramadas Chawl, which is on Dharavi Road, not far from the Gold Field Plaza. If you know Dharavi, you know it’s a place that never really stops moving. There is always someone working, always some noise, and always something happening on the street outside. We’ve been here in this chawl for a long time now. It’s where we do all our work. The space is cramped and filled with the smell of materials, but it’s where we feel at home and get things done. We don't have a fancy showroom with air conditioning or anything like that. It’s just a workshop where we spend our hours making things. Most of us have been doing this for years, and we learned the trade from the people before us. It’s not a corporate setup; it’s just a bunch of people who know how to work with their hands and take pride in that. We don't spend much time worrying about branding or expensive advertisements. People know where to find us if they want something made. The road outside is always dusty and loud, but inside we just focus on the task at hand. We aren't looking to become some massive brand. We just want to make sure we do enough work to keep things going and support our families. It’s a tough environment sometimes, but we’ve been part of this community for so long that it's just our way of life.
