Global Fashion Clothing Company

Our workshop, Global Fashion Clothing Company, is located at Plot No. 33/l/6 in Shivaji Nagar, Govandi. If you know Govandi, you know it’s a packed area with a lot of energy. Our plot is right in the middle of all that activity. We have the machines running for most of the day, so there’s a constant hum in the background. It’s a lot of fabric being moved around and people working at their stations. Shivaji Nagar is a place where everyone is busy doing something. The building isn't anything to look at from the street, but we’ve got everything we need inside. We do a lot of the basic clothing work that keeps the local markets going. The Plot No. 33/l/6 spot is where we handle the cutting and the final packing. It gets pretty cramped when a big shipment comes in, and we have to stack things up high. We usually have lunch together on the small benches we have out front. It’s a simple life. The commute to Govandi can be tough with the trains and the crowds, but we’ve all grown used to it over the years. We aren't trying to be some big corporate entity; we’re just a bunch of people making clothes in a busy part of the city. The work is steady and it keeps us all going. We focus on the stitches and the fabric rolls and just getting things done right before the sun goes down. Usually, the last of us leaves quite late.
