Om Garments

We are based in Laxmi Niwas on Aarey Road, tucked behind the Vijay Hotel and very close to the East West Subway in Goregaon East. It is a very convenient location for us because the trains are right there. Our unit is a typical garment factory setup. We have rows of sewing machines and large cutting tables. The building, Laxmi Niwas, is a bit of an older structure, so it has its quirks like leaky taps and noisy pipes, but it is home to us. We spend our days surrounded by piles of colorful fabric and the constant hum of the machines. It is a busy atmosphere, especially when we are trying to finish a big batch of shirts or trousers. We have a small staff of about ten people who have mostly been with us for years. We aren't a big brand with a marketing team. We just take orders from local shops and wholesalers. Sometimes it gets a bit cramped when we have a lot of stock waiting to be shipped out. We usually have lunch together on the back terrace when it isn't raining. It is a lot of repetitive work, but we find a rhythm in it. We don't have a fancy showroom, just a small corner with a desk where we talk to suppliers. It is a practical, no-nonsense kind of business.
