Being right on the Isanpur-Narol Highway means we hear the trucks all day and night. Gohil Packaging Pvt. Ltd. sits here in the Balaji Estate area, and it’s always busy. Sometimes I think the noise is just part of the furniture now. We spend most of our time looking at cardboard and plastic. The floor is always covered in some kind of scrap, no matter how much we sweep. It’s a big space but it fills up fast when a large order comes in. We have a few machines that can be quite loud when they’re running at full speed. My brother and I usually handle the logistics side while the guys in the back do the heavy lifting. The weather gets really dry here, which is actually good for the paper stock we keep. We don’t have a fancy website or a person to answer phones with a script. Usually, it’s just me picking up and hoping the connection is good over the traffic noise outside. Lunch is usually brought from home and we eat it quickly at the small desk near the entrance. It’s not a glamorous job, but we’ve been doing this since the estate was much smaller than it is now. You get used to the pace of the highway life after a few years. It’s just work and more work.
