Running Gloria Art Fashion out of Shop Number 41 in the Jaihind Cooperative has its ups and downs. Chembur is a busy place, especially around the Old Sama Road area where things are always moving. We have been here for a good amount of time now. The shop isn't very large, but we managed to fit everything we need inside. There are rolls of cloth sitting in the corners and the sound of the machine is usually going from morning until we close up for the night. You can see the street life through the front door, people walking to work or the kids coming back from school. We don't have a big corporate team or anything like that, it's just a few of us making sure the garments are handled right. Sometimes the electricity flickers when the weather gets bad, but we just keep going. People from the cooperative society often stop by just to say hello or check on their orders. It’s a local kind of life. We spend a lot of time looking at patterns and making sure the measurements are what they should be. It gets dusty because of the road construction nearby, but we try to keep the shop tidy enough. If you’re looking for the place, just find the Jaihind building and walk down to shop 41. It’s nothing fancy, just a workspace where we do our daily jobs and try to keep things moving along for everyone.
