Gangar General Stores

Gangar General Stores is a small shop located at Shop No.3 on Barucha Road in the Ambawadi area of Dahisar. We’ve been sitting on this corner for quite some time now, watching the neighborhood change around us. It is a typical general store where we try to keep a bit of everything that people living nearby might need for their homes. From morning till night, we are mostly busy stocking shelves, weighing out items, and talking to the regulars who come in every day. The space is a bit tight because we try to fit as much stock as possible so nobody leaves empty-handed. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded when the delivery trucks arrive at the same time as the school kids are stopping by for snacks. We don’t have fancy displays or a big marketing plan. We just open the shutters early in the morning and stay open until late evening. If someone needs something specific, we try to get it for them by the next week. It’s a lot of standing on our feet and moving crates around, but we are used to it by now. Dahisar is a nice place to have a shop like this because you get to know everyone's names and what they usually buy. We just focus on keeping the shelves full and the prices fair for the local families who depend on us. That’s really all there is to Gangar General Stores.
