Sports World

We’ve been here at No. 94 Kazi Syed Street for quite a while now. If you know the Masjid Station area, you know how crowded it gets, especially near Ganga Vihar on the ground floor. It’s always a bit of a rush around here. My father started this because he liked cricket, and it just grew into Sports World over the years. We mostly just keep busy with whatever the local kids and the teams need. Sometimes the shop feels a bit small when we get a big delivery of bats or footballs, and we’re tripping over boxes for a day or two until everything gets put away on the shelves. It isn't a fancy place with bright lights or anything like that. It’s just a regular shop where we know most of the people who walk through the door. Usually, it's just me or my brother behind the counter. We spend a lot of time talking to people about which gear lasts longer on the local grounds because the dirt around here is tough on equipment. The fans are always humming, and there’s usually a radio playing somewhere in the back. We don't really do much advertising or anything. People just find us because we've been in the same spot for so long. Sometimes the trains at Masjid Station make so much noise you can hardly hear the customers, but you get used to it after a week of working here.
