Our workplace is situated in Atlanta Estate, up on the 5th floor in unit 519. It’s an industrial sort of building, so there is always some kind of noise from the other units or the elevators moving heavy goods. Dealing with sieving and filtering equipment means the office often has small metal parts or mesh samples sitting on the desks. It’s not a very fancy place, just a practical area where we handle the orders and talk to the guys in the workshop. Looking out the windows, you mostly just see the rest of the estate's concrete buildings and other businesses. A lot of our time goes into looking at technical drawings or checking the inventory lists. It can get a bit hectic when a big order is going out, especially with everyone trying to make sure the paperwork matches the crates. There isn't a big HR department or anything like that here; we’re just a group of people who know how these machines work. Most days involve being on the phone or responding to messages from people who need their production lines fixed. In the drawer, we keep a stash of biscuits for when the afternoons get long. This is a steady job and the location works well because transport trucks find us easily. Focusing on the task at hand is just how we get through the day.
