Fractal Fashion

Fractal Fashion is at Unit 212 on the second floor of the Star Industrial Estate. We are part of the Buller Star Premises Co-operative society on Plot 5A. It’s located just behind Sakinaka. If you know the area, you know how busy it is. There’s always construction or traffic nearby. Our space is one of many in this building. We do garment work here. The floor is usually covered in little pieces of thread and scraps of cloth. We try to sweep up, but it never stays clean for long. We have a small group of workers who are very skilled. Most of them have been doing this for decades. We don't have a website or a big marketing plan. Most people find us through word of mouth. We deal with a lot of local orders. The building has an old elevator, but we usually just take the stairs to the second floor. It’s faster. We have a small desk for paperwork, but most of the room is for the machines. Sakinaka is a tough place to navigate, but it’s where the action is. We stay busy through the year. Sometimes we have to work weekends if a deadline is close. It’s just how it goes. We don’t make a big deal out of it. We just provide what we can from our little corner of the estate. It is a simple life for us here.
