We’ve been here at Mumbai Central Government Colony for a good while now, specifically in building 6/404. Most people who live around here know where we are. It’s not a huge place, just a regular spot where people come to get something to eat when they don’t feel like cooking at home. We start early in the morning, getting things ready before the sun gets too hot. The colony stays pretty busy with families and folks working in the nearby offices. We try to keep things simple because that is what seems to work. Sometimes the line gets a bit long during the lunch hour but we move as fast as we can. It’s mostly the same faces every day, which is nice. You get to know what people like without them even having to say it. The chairs are just basic wood and the tables are a bit old, but they stay clean. We don't have fancy decorations or big signs outside. Just the name Food Land and the door is usually open. If you walk past building six, you will probably smell what we are cooking that day. It’s just us doing what we do every day. Sometimes the rains make it a bit quiet, but usually, there is a bit of noise from the street. It’s a decent place to sit for a few minutes and have a plate of food before heading back to work or home. We just keep things moving along day by day.
