Five Brothers Clothing Llp is found on Kalbadevi Road, which is one of the busiest spots in Mumbai. Our office is in Room 13 on the first floor of 337 Badam Wadi. If you know Kalbadevi, you know it’s a maze of old buildings and narrow staircases. Our building is no different; the stairs are a bit steep and the hallways are narrow. Inside Room 13, it is usually quite packed. We have rolls of cloth leaning against the walls and desks pushed together so we can all work. It gets very loud outside with the handcarts and the people shouting in the market, but that is just the way life is here. We are five brothers running this, so there is always a lot of talking and sometimes a bit of arguing about how things should be done. We don't have a fancy showroom or a website guy; we just handle the clothing business the old-fashioned way. The ceiling is high but the paint is peeling a bit in the corners. We drink a lot of tea throughout the day, usually ordered from the shop downstairs. By the time we are ready to leave, the market is usually at its peak chaos. We have to weave through the crowds to get anywhere. It’s a tough, fast-paced environment, but we’ve been here for a while and we know how to navigate it. It’s just us, working hard in the heart of the cloth market.
