Our office is in the Everest building, D-17, on P.M.M.M. Road. This building is a bit of a landmark in this area, though it’s seen better days for sure. We deal with machine accessories, so the office is usually full of metal parts, catalogs, and tools. It’s not the kind of place where you’d want to wear a suit. Most of us are in casual clothes because we’re often handling greasy parts or moving heavy boxes around. The Everest building has a lot of offices, so the lifts are always busy and there’s a constant stream of messengers coming in and out. We spend a lot of our time looking at technical drawings and trying to find the right part for a customer who called from halfway across the country. It’s a lot of technical talk and checking sizes. We don't have a fancy showroom. If someone wants to see something, we just pull it out of a bin and show it to them on the workbench. The lighting isn't the best, and the air conditioning is a bit temperamental, but it’s our space and it works for us. We’ve been here for years, so we know exactly where every little screw and bolt is stored. It’s a bit of a mess to an outsider, but there’s a system to it. We just focus on getting the right parts to the right people without making it complicated. No one leaves until the work is finished.
