Working out of Trans Residency in Andheri East is an interesting experience. We are in Building 3, specifically B-201, which sits right in the Subhash Nagar area. Being near MIDC on Road No. 23 means there is always something going on outside. The traffic is usually a mess, especially during the rains, but that’s just part of living and working in Mumbai. Our space is filled with samples and fabric swatches scattered across the tables. It isn't a polished showroom or anything like that. It’s a functional space where we get the work done. You’ll often find us arguing over which shade of blue looks better under the dim office lights or trying to find more room for the latest shipment. We’ve been in this building for a bit, and the security guards know us as the people always carrying heavy bags of clothes up and down the stairs when the lift is slow. We don't have a big marketing department or a fancy reception desk. It’s just a group of us in a residential building trying to stay organized amidst the chaos of the garment trade. Every day is a bit different, depending on what arrives at our door. Sometimes it’s quiet, and we just catch up on emails, but usually, it’s a lot of manual sorting and checking. It’s our little corner of the city where things actually happen, even if it feels a bit cramped sometimes.
