Dianomi Fashion (Opc) Private Limited

Our office is in Mapla House, which is an old building in the Fort area of Mumbai. We are on the first floor. If you walk down Perin Nariman Street, you will see how old and crowded everything is. It’s a historic part of the city, and the building reflects that. The ceilings are high but the rooms are narrow. We do fashion work here, mostly coordinating orders and looking at new designs. It’s just an OPC, so it’s a small operation. Most of the time, it’s just me and a helper. We have racks of clothes blocking the windows sometimes. The street outside is always full of people and noise from the market. We get our supplies from the nearby lanes. It’s a lot of walking back and forth. The stairs in the building are wooden and they creak every time someone goes up. We don't have a fancy reception area. You just walk in and see us working at the big wooden table. We’ve been here for a bit, and despite the lack of space, it works for us. We drink tea from the cycle-wala who comes by every morning. We don’t have a big marketing plan. We just talk to our regular clients and try to keep up with the work. It’s a bit chaotic but that’s just how life is in South Mumbai. We like the energy of the neighborhood.
