Diamond Drum & Bucket Factory

You can hear us before you see us most days. Diamond Drum & Bucket Factory is located at Plot No-168 on P.P. Marg. We are right near the old Ahmed Mill and the spot everyone calls Two Tanks. It is an industrial part of the city, so there is always the sound of metal hitting metal or machines humming in the background. The factory floor is pretty big, and it is usually covered in some kind of dust or shavings. We have been making drums and buckets here for a long time. The roof is corrugated metal, so it gets really loud when the rain starts hitting it in the monsoon. It stays pretty warm inside because of the machinery, so we usually keep the big side doors open to catch whatever breeze comes off the street. There is a small office partitioned off in one corner where we keep the records and the phone. The furniture in there is quite old and the chair squeaks every time someone sits down. We have a few workers who have been with us since the beginning, and they know the rhythm of the place better than anyone. It’s not a clean or quiet job, but it’s what we do. People in the neighborhood know the Diamond name because we’ve been at this same plot for decades. We don’t have a fancy showroom, just the factory and the finished products stacked out front ready to go.
